The Town of Beech Mountain is governed by a non-partisan five member Town Council whose actions are carried out by the Town Manager. The Town Manager works with 55 full time employees to increase the quality of life for the citizens and visitors of Beech Mountain by supporting Town departments with quality, state of the art municipal personnel services. As a service provider, the Town relies on well-trained, motivated, caring and professional employees.

The Town has approximately 2,350 dwelling units on the mountain, 62 miles of road, produces water for consumption, treats sewer, provides both indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities, polices the community, provides trash collection along with a recycling center, houses E-911, has a Municipal Fire Department, and continues to grow visitor numbers while drawing in new business opportunities. Town of Beech Mountain Employment Opportunity: 

Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Worker

Seasonal position (40hrs/week) $14.00 per hour, April 1, 2020 through September 30, 2020- A Seasonal Maintenance Worker performs a variety of unskilled and semi‑skilled manual labor tasks, equipment operation and other duties as required within the Public Works Department for roadside maintenance and street maintenance and roadside landscaping. Employees in this class perform a variety of semi‑skilled and unskilled manual labor tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, park facilities, and other Town facilities. Work involves serving as a member of Public Works crew. Duties include operating light to medium equipment; maintaining paved and gravel roads; installing and repairing street signs; collecting debris impeding traffic or pose a safety concern; cleaning culverts; making water and sewer taps; assisting in minor repair of equipment and vehicles; removing trees and trimming limbs, snow/leaf removal, and related tasks. Work is performed under regular supervision of Maintenance Crew Leader in accordance with specific instructions and within defined procedures. Valid standard Driver’s License recognized in the State of N.C. required. Positions are open until filled.
