The Beech Mountain Planning and Inspections Department interprets and enforces the North Carolina State Building Code and Beech Mountain Town Ordinances, including our Zoning Ordinance. The Department is staffed with the Building Codes Administrator, who is primarily responsible for building permits and construction related issues, and the Planner/ Zoning Administrator/ GIS Mapper, who serves as staff to the Planning Board, Tree Board, and Board of Adjustment and whose primary function is to create and recommend policies and programs to improve the overall character and quality of Beech Mountain.

Other Permit Requirements in Beech Mountain
In the Town of Beech Mountain, some of the common local code issues include the requirements for tree cutting permits, sign permits, garbage bin enclosures, posted street addresses, screened l.p. gas tanks, and smoke detectors and fire extinguishers in rental housing.
