Community & Economic Development

Overview

The Department of Community and Economic Development works with other town departments and organizations, local, state and federal agencies, and community members to support businesses, residents and visitors, and preserve the town’s natural resources and quality of life.

The Town of Beech Mountain has experienced positive, managed growth over the past decade.

Using the principles laid out in the Town’s 2020-2035 Strategic Plan, the town has seen growth in the number of full-time residents, renovation of existing structures, in-fill of new construction in existing residential areas, and improvement of the town’s water and sewer systems and roads. Management of solid waste has been improved, as has the general appearance of the town. Public bathrooms, trails, and parks have been added, many with the support of Occupancy Tax funds, grants and donations.

The Community and Economic Development Department seeks compatible businesses, partnerships, and sources of funding to assist and support sustainable growth and development within the Town of Beech Mountain.
