The Town of Beech Mountain is asking homeowners to help us help you in emergency situations. In the summer of 2016 we published several articles related to helping us help you when responding to emergency situations at your residence.
In the spring of 2017 the Town conducted a survey of all the structures within the Town of Beech Mountain and its fire district to determine compliance with Town of beech Mountain address posting ordinance. It was discovered that there are many properties within the Town that do not have their addresses properly posted. In an emergency situation, this ambiguity can cost precious seconds and even minutes.
Please take a look at your residence and imagine how difficult it would be to find your home by an emergency responder, particularly in the dark. Good marking is 3-inch-high reflective numbers with good contrast that are easily visible from the road as you approach. Numbers are acceptable on the mailbox posts that are on the same side of the road as the house. If the mailbox is on the other side of the road, it is not acceptable. Please help us help you: make it easy to spot your and your neighbor’s location.
